It's Christmas Month! YEAH. We all
gets new toys, good eats (well we get that all the time), good juices,
and lots of holiday chatter. At the top of the pictures next door
here, we have a little guy leaving for Montreal next week along
with his lady friend.
Oh but before we go any further we have
to share an email with you we received this morning. It is just too
cute, what they call her!
Just thought I’d
let you know what a sweetie Paddy has turned out to be. She has
taken a real shine to my husband and in the mornings when I let her
out to zoom around, she always finds him in the bedroom so she can
say “Hi” to him.
She also is soooo
cute when the water is running in the sink she will come running
and hop right into the sink for a bath!! I can hold her in my hand
and let the tap run gently over her body to give her a bath too. She
is very curious and lovely and I can really see the similarity to
her sibling Lazuli. He too has taken a shine to the wee Paddy girl.
When she is good
we call her Paddy Cakes and when she is bad we call her Paddy
Whacks. Lol
Take care and
have a great day,
Kerri
As a little
reminder of how quickly disaster can happen, this lady originally
had Lazuli and his brother. As most linnies do, these clowns
loved crawling under a throw Kerri kept on the living room sofa.
Things can happen so quickly, without thinking her husband sat on
the sofa one afternoon. I'm sure you can put two and two
together and realize who was under the throw. The family,
especially her husband was devastated. Hence, Paddy Cakes went
to live with them. PLEASE when your birdies are out, be on alert as
these guys are very smart, very quick, and oh so many love to
snuggle! This just happens to be the third such incident as
this, with our linnie babies.
See the little
olive linnie next door, well that's Skittles and he/she is going to
live in Moncton. Really they both are, the sky blue as well,
we just don't know the little blue's new name yet? They are
just fledging for the first time today, so all feathers are intact
still! Note the little blue (or any bird for that matter) have
no manners and don't care who they walk onto get to where they want
to go!
Same goes for
the sennies. Any day now, they will make their first flight around
their room to check things out. THere's a picture Jo snapped
here of Butterball having a little stretch, wings extended.
Now let's move
on to Elton next door here. He is also going home this weekend
we think. Who knows, he may even get to take a friend
for a permanent sleepover with him! Then we have our beautiful
whiteface creamino lady with Elton, sizing up our little Paddy!
When Kerri told us she was calling the new guy Paddy, we loved the
name and told her we were going to use it. Paddy is the
youngest of the sennie babies. THe second oldest Jo used to call
Jenna, but realizes now that name has to change. Past couple of
days, it's not very nice, but she's been calling him butterball!!
At 183 grams he should stop soon. It's the youngest Paddy who eats
the most, man seems you can fill that one up, but she's only 160
grams so far. Can't hold a candle to Butterball. To boot
Butterball has the most brillant orange trimming the rounds of his
shoulders as you can see in a couple pictures here. All the
babies are beautiful with their brillant orange bellies and deep
greens.

This little guy is Munchkin! As you can
see he and his Mom are the bestest of buddies. He has his own
personalized digs with no shortage of play space. A little
excerpt from an emial Jo received yesterday from Alison's Mom
..............He is the love of Alison's
life. I can"t tell you how much of a delight it is to have him in
our family. He is soooo smart and funny................ (she
forgot to add "spoiled and lovin it"!)

Kit in her new home with her Mom. She left last Friday and has
settled in very nicely as you can see! We've been told she is a
great helper with the breakie chores and loves to stay with Mom while
Breakie is being prepared every morning. Oh and I guess she is
also showering with Mom already as well!
Poor Focker heard it was cold outside!

And this little bundle folks is our new little grandson, Ethan. We
ought to be ashamed as he is two months old today and we are just now
getting pictures up. Here he is all ready for Santa to come
see him!
Kit sharing breakfast with Stash. We love this photo, Thanks
Caitlin!

Skittles you can be sure, is the first in the dish
and the last out!

Butterball says he may be two months old, but he
still loves his cuddles. Will Jo be happy when these guys
get those baby toes filed down on the sandy perch! First goes
Patty clammbering down the front of Jo's shirt. Then goes
Butterball, and last down goes Sporty. They would stay down the
shirt and nap all day if Jo would let them. Earlier today
Butterball crawled down the back of Jo's shirt. OUCH did those
toes hurt and what a job to get him out! Yesterday Jo puts a
little baby receiving blanket on top of their cage. They snuggle
into it, Jo flaps the top over on them and they nap for an hour!
Jo kept going to check they were snuggled in so tight she wanted to
ensure they were breathing!!

 And the star
of the month is BEEPER!! Then we have one of his buddies, JoJo
who figures while Beeper is going to adorn the tree, he is going to have
some eggnog !! (O.K. juice!) We were also informed today Beeper is
passing Kindergarden by Christmas. Good Boy Beeper!
He can now say "Hello Beeper" and is working on his second
phase. Not his fault Mom and Dad can't figure out what he's saying
yet! He has made himself right at home and between him and his two
buddies JoJo and Chubber they now rule the household. They know
every crok and cranny and have no problem whizzing over Mom and Dad's
heads to get to their destinations! JoJo is a little slow on the
draw as he broke a couple blood feathers last month and had to be
clipped back a bit for now. They tell me he will make a landing on
the floor and run to catch up with the other two!
Ain't no
doubt these are three spoiled kids!
(Please be careful if you have houses with open doors to
outside. These folks have no fears of the birds getting out as
they are in an apartment complex. The windows are well screened and
protected) These guys are all only clipped back the first four feathers.

Beeper's not so happy. Mom and Dad told him he was safer on the
table, not on top of the tree!

Remember me folks? Probably not, I'm Beeper and left a long time ago to
live with my new family out west. Growed up to be a pretty
handsome dude huh! Jo thinks so, as does Beeper's Mom!

Hi Joanne,
I just wanted to say thanks for the very cute Christmas card! It was
very clever. I really like the new look of your website :) Beeper
is doing great, I took her to the vet yesterday for her second check
up. She is so cuddly and sweet and I just wanted to say thanks again
for doing an excellent job of raising her. She now says "I love
you!" as well as her name, "Beeper." Have a Merry Christmas! Keep
in touch,
Laura

We could not resist adding some more pictures tonight! This is
Butterball trying his darnest to get tucked in there beside Patty Cakes.
These babies add new meaning to the word "Snuggle Bums"! We
can guarantee you the label Butterball will be changing very, very soon
as his new Mom drawls over these pictures put on the Journal for
her. She now has to try HER darnest to fit a name that
suits him! That's right, he's going to live in Newfoundland and
has one excited Mom waiting (not so patiently). Jo had him laying
in her palm tonight giving him tickles (after she got them out of her
shirt again, that is!)
Chris is Butterball's (aka KITO) new Mom and just sends us this! Too cute not
to share!
