Howdy Folks, Yep, a whole lot late
again and a whole lot busy here. One of our fans has been waiting
and waiting and asking "What No Journal for October!", so we figured we
had best get on the ball here! 15 hahns on the go with
lovebirds and linnies makes for one busy household! These hahns
are just a riot. I mean heck, look at the Little Dude here laying
in my hand picking his toe nails!! We thought we were going to
start harness training that day. Well that was a joke! Jo
had it almost on Little Dude, but stopped due to being sure the other 6
would have been the ones leading him around!! So she just
let them play with it on their own!
Brenda and Michael were up to visit with their Mango, as
was Gail. Gail is already owned by Higgins, one of our Hahns babys
from last year and JoJo, a red belly. She is right in her glory
here with the babies romping all over her. You do not go into our
Babies Room right now and expect to get out in a hurry. These guys
are like velcro and takes you forever to get them off you to sneak out
the door.
How do you like our bibbs Linda made for us. They even gots little
pockets! Jo figures not only will these help keep the dinner off
us, but get us used to having something around our necks. I think
she gots plans for those harnesses you see the bigger guys playing
with for us as well.
Gail having a "heart to heart" with Little Dude.
And this would be what it's like when you go into our Babies Room
now. Imagine in another month, when the other eight have all
growed up big enough to fly around!
What would be your first clue Gail is in her Glory here!
No fooling around anymore, We bake breads in quantity now!!
All lined up for supper! and No supper!! It was too funny.
They "thought" they were going to get fed and all lined up! The
feeding station is just not big enough for this crew. THey all
line up here and Jo gets up on a stool to feed them!! They know
the drill only too well, believe me!!
Would you be surprised to hear that with all these babies
our house is not rocking with noise! These guys just play and play
and play. About the only time you hear them call is if Jo is
feeding the wee babies and they want OUT! Obviously they have to
be in their cages when Jo is feeding. Jo IGNORES them
completely if they start calling. Does not even talk to them.
When she is done feeding and ONLY if they are not calling does she let
them back out. They NEVER scream and call to each other when they
are in their cages and Jo is not in the room. You would not know
they are in the house really!! I'm sure that could be a whole lot
different if Jo would go get them when they are calling, as that would
teach them, scream and cry and we get out!! Huge
mistake folks!
