Oscar Joey
OSCAR smootching in behind JOEY
WE really must get some pictures today of Oscar and Joey. My gosh they are all feathered in, in their first little apt and already picking at foods. Jo is having such a difficult time getting Bella, Higgins and Shazza to eat their mash and veggies, she is starting Oscar and Joey right off the bat with fresh foods and not pellets. She did this with the other three, but for some strange reason they much prefer to eat the pellets or should we say, devour their pellets. They eat their goldenfeast blends and love them all. They eat their seed mixes. Fresh foods and mashes, you have to be kidding, it's like Jo is out of her ever loving mind to think they should have to eat that foreign crap!!! We have never seen the likes of it. Normally babies would much prefer to eat their fresh foods than the pellets!! Too funny!! It's now 10:30 a.m. here and we just let the three munchkins out to play for the day. Let's just say they are not ready to let their morning feeding go yet. First thing Shazza and Bella do is make their way right on over to the feeding perch, climb on up and sit and wait!!!! In other words FEED US!! They know to get fed they have to be on this station and STAY on this station! Make no matter Jo was thinking of trying to cut out the morning feeding today, this was just too cute and they got fed! Higgins, he climbed on up for a couple mouth fulls, but he will be first weaned. Makes no matter to him if he gets much or not. Our little "teddy bears" are some kinda cute huh. Man oh man are they growing fast. These are going to be three huge little teddies the way they are going!

This is what you call an all summer
project above folks! Louis is building a huge water pond in the
back yard, with walkways, benches, all kinds of big plans. Means
he pretty much only gets a bit of the weekends to work on it, it is
taking him while. Between working and Jo keeping him busy running
chores for Healthy Bird or building us new nest boxes he does not have
much spare time. Means Jo's front gardens are all a mess as well
as she had been waiting to move a lot of her plants back there and then
re-do the front of the house. Everyone manages to stay very busy
here at this house, always something on the go!
Now for the portant stuff. US......!!!!! Water, and lots of it, is our Motto! Under the tap, in a bowl, misted, we'll take water in any form! Jo near died the other day cleaning perches. Shazza was on her shoulder, JO turns the tap on, down the arm, quick as those big feet will move her over on under the tap! It as just TOO funny. Jo cupped the water in one hand and he would play with the water in the hand, then dunk himself under the tap. Jo runs and gets Higgins, same thing! Then under goes Bella! Today Jo held this huge dish up to them to see what they would do. Well as you can see, that is pretty self explanatory!! The guy in the middle had so much fun, looked just like a plane coming in for landing with the wings out, but of course Jo has to break to download the full card in the camera! She was not impressed. Then you have the finished, clean product looking proud and as squeeky clean as can be. Now comes the fun of preening for hours, getting each feather just so. Believe me Jo is loving every minute of raising us. We are just such loveable, cuddlie, well mannered little clowns. We might sport those big beaks and maybe someday we might even try them out and have to learn more manners, but for now, we have just content to use them to chew up our toys and of course Jo's diamonds! She "used" to have her three diamond bands sawered together until today! Then you have Miss Sola - or - should I say, Mrs Attitude! As you can see she can be one loveable little lady. Then don't give her what she wants, and look out Mr. Man! She will let you know in no time flat! Her and her new man, who does have manners by the way, are going to their new homes soon.
News of the week folks,..........three new little red belly babies! Now you don't think Jo isn't just so happy with Rosa and Chummy for this one! Loads of pictures coming this month again as they mature. Baby No. 1 is sold. Baby No. 2 is sold to one couple if it's a boy. Baby No. 3 is sold if it's a boy. So all in all, only way two would be available is if they were all girls! What's the odds?! How about those big brown eyes. Just in awe of Bella sitting pretty on his shoulder. Not for long, Bella got adventurous up onto the hat! This is Ben, the son of a lady Jo used to work with. They come to visit every year. It just so happened that the future Mom and Dad to Bella also came to visitthat day. Their was no lack of attention for Bella you can be sure. Of course Shazza and Higgins got to come out in the gazabo and show off as well, but it was picture taking day for Bella! She is such a sweetheart. She can play hard, do the hanging, watch me dangle games, don't get me wrong. When it's quiet, snuggle time, she is the sweetest, mildest, little lady you have ever seen. Terry just loved her little cooing noises. Don't get me wrong there either, put two hahns in separate rooms and let them call to each other. This sweet, mild, quiet little lady lets loose with her very grown up chat back to her siblings! (please note we are in a screen tent here) Every year we have our nest of robins, nesting a top one of the outside speakers on the double decker workshop as Jo calls it! We not only have the back yard tore up, we have work happening on this workshop. That's Jesse up on the wall checking on the baby robins. This was not a happy couple days for these babies. The Mom and Dad would sit in nearby trees just yapping away, then you would hear the babies cry back. Regis took frequent breaks so the Mom could go feed the babies. These are pictures we took a couple weeks apart. As wee babies and then all growed up. The couple pictures are blurred as they were taken from the ground, almost with the Mom in full action, hence the blurr.
SHAZZA "Hanging" around!
Bella tasting those "foreign" foods Jo insists on presenting to them!
Higgins with his morning toast!
Our three red belly teddy bears! Just when you think you have all
the formula cleaned off them, you discover a little brother or sister
has rubbed his grubby little face on his siblings wings!
As you can see here, Beeper is just starting to get his little red brow.
Jeepers and Daffy as Jo has dubbed them until their Mom's give them
proper names should have their little red brows any day.
