That's right folks, it's CHRISTMAS MONTH!!  Santa's coming with his sled full of presents, Jo's got us all decorated and tonight the snow's coming for Santa!  Oh ya, Jo's told us there's a big storm on the way. That's O.K., we gots the wood stove and we're all nice and toasty.

Babies we gots lots of them!  Had all the older linnies leave last week.  Oh we should tell you, the little green gal that went to Ottawa and her Mom was not so sure what her name was gonna be.  She emailed Jo the next day to tell Jo her name.  Tookie.  Just too cute, as the lady (who by the way sent Jo a real nice reference that Lou put on our References Page) that Jo sent two to
just the day before the little one went to Ottawa already has one linnie. Named .........none other ..........than Tookie!  Tookie, Jo has been informed, means Parakeet in Hebrew.  Jo has a little female cobalt that she has held back for herself and has her in with a green male.  The poor couple still were nameless still then.  Tookie and Toots.  YEP that's their new names.  Now we have little Tookie's all over the place!  JO laughs as Tookie in Ottawa gets called "Your Highness"  in her emails to Jo, more than her proper name Tookie!   Needless to say both families just love their new
additions.  Had two families here this week visiting with their new babies that they are waiting so patiently to be able to take home.  One has been named Shade and the other was going to be Bender until yesterday when Jo told him it was a girl, so that name could change now. Did we tell you that we "think" we have our very first lutino baby linnie. Least that's what Lou tells Jo it will be.  Only a week and a half old so hard to tell just yet.   Other than those two in the brooder, we have two
sky blues, one green female and one cobalt guy. Shade, the little cobalt fellow has attitude plus let me tell you, just a going concern.   A fellow from Fredericton has one on order with Jo and has requested one WITH
attitude, so hopefully the clutches coming next will have another attitude plus fellow.  As Jo says, one more time, these guys are just like us.  They all have their own individual unique personalities.  The green lady is
quiet, laidback and just more content to sit quietly on Jo's shoulder and snuggle into her neck.  Shade, the cobalt, well he is just a going concern, as is one of the sky blues.  The other sky blue is also very outgoing and
just starting the nibble stage.  None of the other three have really started this stage yet, so Jo is hoping they will by-pass it! Both sky blues are little girls as well.  Lots and lots of girls this time round.  Hopefully the other little one in the brooder is a boy as Turk out in Edmonton is waiting on a boy friend.  He is a little boy and his Mom wants a for him.
So how do you like all the little lovebirds here.  These guys I want you to know are just spoiled rotten.  Their favorite pastime is jumping down Jo's shirt and playing inside her shirt the whole time they are out.  Here Jo is
feeding babies from the brooder and these guys clamoring around inside her shirt!  What a time!  One of them as you can see has a name and is leaving this week.  A little girl and far as JO knows her name is Raine.  She is also gonna get herself a boyfriend from one of the babes in the brooder.
Hi guys, loads of news let me tell you.  Little green gem is gone home to Halifax.  Her Mom and Dad came and got her yesterday.  Shade is leaving tomorrow.  We do have a little lutino baby linnie, Gots more linnie Moms on eggs, lovebirds babies are growing up fast and furious and just the most stunning selection of mutations!  I see Jo has put some pictures of them
here.  The four babies of Sundance and Cassidy's are just too funny.  Their one,  and I mean one and only center of activity,  is playing down Jo's shirt.  How about the picture next door here of the silver on her way down and one of the others peeking over the edge!  Jo wears big sweatshirts with t-shirts underneath.  They get under there and run up and down the inside of her sleeves.  So ya gotta picture this,  she's got two going down one arm, two going down the other end.  Jo joins her two hand together as they love to come up and out one cuff only to run over and down the other cuff. They are like sticky glue,  Jo has a heck of a time getting them back home. You know either Jo's a little late in updating here, or we all grow too fast.  She has pictures here of them all in their xmas basket while she is cleaning the brooder.  Gosh, some of those guys are already in apartments. There is more pictures of the pied cinnamon whiteface of Jesse and Jodie's down below here.  We gotta get Jo to get pictures of the nice seagreen violet pieds of Pig Pen and Petey's.
We know Jesse does not read Jo's Journal so we are safe in telling you Jo's pretty excited about this week coming up.  All he wants for his birthday is a shitzu puppy.  Well his dad finally found him one today.   Just eight weeks old, all white with big black ears I guess.  We'll be sure and post pictures this week as the reason Jo is so excited, she gets to baby sit her all this week.  Jesse's birthday is not till the 18, so she gets to stay
with Jo till then!   Jo and Lou used to have a shitzu so Jo's kinda partial to them. Gonna be one fun week with all these babies!

Bet you thought we'd never be back!  Aren't we just the cutest three babies you ever saw!  This is our bestest place we like to be, right down the front of Jo's shirt!  You wanta see us get upset, let Jo take those other babies out WITHOUT us and right in front of our faces those other babies goes down her shirt.  NOT fair at all.   We are all over the front of our home, begging to get out.  Sticky glue, that's what Jo calls us!  In case your wondering, two of us have been DNA sexed and the other is ed.  Silver whiteface is a lady, double factor violet is a boy and cinnamon violet is the ed lady.  That girl weighs in at a whooping 62 grams.  She has always been a big girl, even in weaning, never went under 58 grams.  Oinker is what you call her!

How about Jess with his new puppy.  What a pet that is!  Mekka (well we are not too sure if that is how they spell it) but that's her name.  She is one little bundle of fun and energy.  Poor Nick, Mekka goes a whole three lbs, but figures Nicky should play with her.  Nicky just looks at her like she is a big pain in the butt, like "who are you?" and "get out of my way"! Too small to play with for her likings.  She is well on her way to being spoiled big time.  Has her own bed at Jo's house as well as at Jess's.  Just about everyone gave Jess presents for Mekka.

Lots of lovebird babies here for you all to choose from.  Jo has to get pictures today of the three beautiful pied silver whiteface babies she has.  Just beautiful.  These are the first silver pied whiteface babies she has had.  Plus we got double factor violet whitefaces, cinnamon violet whitefaces, seagreen pieds, and the list goes on.  The last linnie baby left yesterday that was ready to go.  Jo has two in the brooder that she has to get pictures of today as well, as she has her first lutino linnie baby in there.  There's some pairs on eggs and more pairs gone to nest.  Just no way of keeping up with the orders she has for these gems.

Raine has gone to her new home and her Mom has emailed Jo several times to say how happy they are.  She is one spoiled little girl who wants nothing more than the other three up in the picture here, to be tooted around all day long and see what trouble she can get into.  They are coming back in the new year to get a boyfriend for her.

Jo says to apologize for not keeping you up to speed this month.  She has been quite busy with all us babies, christmas and getting the Healthy Bird website redone.  She is getting there, slow but sure.  Recently some breeders have switched to these products thru Jo and are just amazed at the difference in their birds, babies, clutch sizes, over health, etc.  They love them.   Soon in the new year Jo is also going to start carrying sandy perches, so if your interested, please let her know.

Now we have to tell you about Soloman.  He has become quite attached to Jo and does not want any strangers around her or him anymore.  Cranky is not the word for it, when someone comes around him or Jo that he does not know.  He now can mimick the paper shredder QUITE well, he is just starting to whistle and has the lovebirds call down to a T.  That boy is also what you would call quite spoiled.  Sophie is her usual timid self.  She is not really scared of anyone, just very timid and shy.  She is just starting her first moult now and the yellow is starting to come in on her forehead.  Jo is patiently waiting for the adult plumage to come.

Update on Queen Betty, I think it's been awhile since we filled you in on her.  She, faithfully every week, spends her whole week building a nest.  She has lain one egg now in six months, Jo figures she just does not have it in her anymore.  She is getting on in age.  She is quite content and happy to just build, build, build, so Jo lets her continue.  Really, what choice does she have!
