BEST WISHES

FOR A WONDERFUL 2005

From all of us, to all of you we hope you had Wonderful Holidays and Santa found you's.  He sure found us all here.  We all got spoiled and treated with lots of treats, Jo and Lou got spoiled, Jesse got spoiled big time and we must not forget Nicky!  She got her very own HUGE gallon of treats!

Gosh, Jo is just remembering this very minute she has a  few Christmas pictures she wants to post for ya's.  In the meantime, how do you like the scrapbook card Tickles, Wiggies, and Giggles bought to Jo.  Now of course, the appropriate place for such a card, is right between Jo's parrots.  On the inside they printed and placed pictures of the three dudes.  They new Mom and Family is just enjoying SO SO much.  E-mail from Trish.

They are funny and the cutest little things I ever saw!

We have one real little rascal! #94 I think he will be Tickles, maybe nicknamed Rascal, he just pushes his way around, was sitting right in the seed dish while every one was eating, they weren't interested in breakfast, wanted to munch on seed. I didn't get them out because the baby wasn't awake and i was afraid I wouldn't be able to get them back in the cage fast enogh if he woke up. I woke the birds up at 7:30, I just couldn't wait. They are so entertaining, hanging upside down to get a drink, every time I go near the cage they scurry right over wanting to come out. Tickles has a personality like my 8 year old. that little rascal was so quick, every time I went to open the door to put their breakfast in, he was right there trampling over anyone in his way to get to that door!

They are just the greatest, I am so excited.

Now folks we have more updates to give you.  No only is Jade, a little lovebird that left last month 90% poopie trained, we received another email today from Mr. Cutie a.k.a. now known as  Rocca, a little slate seagreen that left a couple months ago is also poopie trained.

January 4, 2005

Yes, the two shower perches that are similar colour are fine. As for the forked perch, I want the red one with sparkles.

by the way, remember Jade's beak? Well, nevermind because she filed it smooth herself.

You won't believe this but she's 90% poop trained!!!

She poops about every 1/2 hour, so I always put her (every 30 mins) on a easy to clean surface (like a table, dresser, etc) and say "Poop", and she does it. Yesterday, she was on my shoulder and she flew to my dresser and then pooped there as soon as she got here. Then, she walked to the edge and started to bob her head up and down and looking at me as in: "Ok, I did my business here, now come and get me!" It was so cute!!!

She'll poop on any other surface except on my shoulder. But once in a while she'll have an 'accident', that's why I said only 90% trainned!!!

Please feel free to post this news on your journal!!!

Happy New Year!!

Hi Joanne,

You should see Rocco (we changed his name a few days after receiving him).

He is now potty trained. We put his little bum over the garbage and he poops in there! He is so nice and friendly.

During the holidays, I brought him to my hometown. He was friendly with every single person he met--jumping and hopping from shoulder to shoulder and to heads! Everyone was amazed at how tamed and friendly he was. Most people who aren't bird fans actually started getting attached to him and are now considering getting a bird from you! I will never recommend anyone else but you from now on!

My boyfriend's father did not wan't to let me come back home with my bird!

He wants one now also. I will send you more pictures of him later this afternoon.

I saw a beautiful double violet factor bird on your website. How old is he and is he sold yet? I'm considering getting Rocco a friend or getting my boyfriend's father a buddy!

Thanks for everything!

Nancy

So you see folks, it is possible to train these little guys!

Now for the update on the happenings in these pictures next door here.

In the dish above here we have a clutch of Jo and Zita's.  The little guy in the front of the dish's Mom emailed to ask why in the world were these guys sitting in the dish!  Why of course, that's one of their most favorite spots as babies!  They figure they make the best beds for napping in!  Jo only wishes she could get a good one of yellow babe with violet pump here.  None of these pictures really do the mutation any justice as she is beautiful.  All three of these beauties are sold by the way.   Tomorrow Jo says they are getting their first wing clipping so they can go downstairs and play with her whist she is doing computer work.

Then we have a little pied slate cinnamon whiteface female.  For the life of her, she can't figure out why those pellets are SO big.

Why of course, cause JoJo, the senegal making a big mess all over Jo's pants eats them!  Or will when she grows up that is, along with her seed mixes, her veggies, her fruits, the list goes on and on. But then, I don't know why Jo is calling JoJo a girl.  Truth be known we "think" she's a he, but next week will tell.  Her new parents want "him" sexed, so we'll keep you posted.  But I guess you can also see here, why Jo is NEVER clean.  If it's not formula, it's poo.  Jo says "who cares", the babies are happy, so she's happy.  The washer and dryer at our house work just fine!  And Lou is great at folding clothes!!  I hear JoJo and her/his siblings are also getting their first clipping tomorrow.  They have excellent co-ordination skills,  excellent flying and landing skills and have no problem hanging by a toenail!  You want to see the funniest, you have to see Kane playing.  This guy LOVES playing, laying on the floor on his back, his little ball up in the air,  between his feet, playing away.  Then he has another larger rubber type ball that is just TOO cute.  He's like a weeble Jo says.  He gets both feet positioned on the top of this ball and weebles all over the floor of his cage till he looses balance and falls over,  WITH the ball still between his feet.  Oh how these guys love to play!

Then we have a little slate seagreen and last for now, we have a silver violet whiteface.  These gems are also being sexed this weekend.

Did you see the CaCa Capes Jo is selling?  Click onto CaCa Capes, you just have to read bout these.  Great poo catchers!

AND oh my Gosh, we cannot forget to tell you.  Remember JoJo, the red belly that went to his new home in November.  He is also talking!!!  His new Mom is hearing "JoJo" "JoJo"!  Jo sure wishes his Dad would learn some more words.  "What's ya doing?" every time she walks into the Bird Room.  But then did we tell you what Chummy's wifie Rosa did last week.  Oh this was priceless.  Jo has (or did have!) all the grates out of her king cages.  Makes for less clean up and for "most" birds they are not needed anyways, as "most" would not be able to get out.  Not so for Mrs. Smarty Pants.  Jo is on her knees changing the paper on the bottom of their cages.  Now Rosa had NEVER to Jo's knowledge done this before and Jo had never seen her go to the bottom of the cage.  Don't ever let them fool you!  Down comes Rosa, positions her body, back down and slides her way out thru the opening where the grate goes in!!!  She did this as if she had been doing this all her life and knew EXACTLY what she was doing.  Then on up and over to Jo's shoulder she goes!  Needless to say, Jo was speechless for a couple minutes.

By the way, I LOVE SUGAR!!!!!!!!!

>(and of course Tickles, Wiggles & Giggles) You should hear Tickles now, he is very understandable!! and he is practicing all the time. Also, Sugar is saying "Nite Nite" It was a little late getting lites out tonight, and she was letting me know, I went in to say good night( I always say "good night" But switched it to Nite Nite, and she kept repeating me every time I said it. Wow I have some smart birds, I can't thank you enough.

>Trish

So folks as you can see, Trish and her family have now added a senegal to their family.  Jo was sure that this baby was saying something, but never told Trish as she was not sure what she was saying.  Trish only had Sugar a day, before she emails Jo, saying she thought she was trying to talk.  Jo then told her, she thought the same thing and told her the words that the birds were most used to hearing, Nite Nite being one.  Jo always goes in and says Nite Nite, quite a few times and gives them all time to tuck in before turning the lights out (leaves night lite on).  She also has her linnies talking up a storm.

Not a very good picture here, but what we were trying to do was get a good picture of Pickle with his face full of grub for his new Mom to see.  Jo made them brown rice, cous cous, sweet potato, corn, peas yesterday.  Believe me they started the day with a full bowl.  No fibs, these three babes would only come up for air long enough to take a half hour break and then back at it.  They never stopped until the dish was bone dry and only the skins of the corn was left! Needless to say Jo was impressed with them and they did not need a big feeding at supper time last night.   As you can see in the back they also have their dish of popcorn treats.  They loves them as well.  Jo was a happy camper this week when she found a new popcorn maker.  The hot air one she had/has would take her forever to make enough to feed the clan in this house.  Not no more.  Poof, five minutes and we gots enough to feed the whole house full!  Quite the mess on the floors to clean up when they are done, but who cares!  Mr. Henry (that's the vacuum by the way) does a great job with Jo pushing him around.

Lavina is in her new home now

Her new Mom sent Jo pictures yesterday and Jo thought this picture was so cute of her perched on top of her home,  she framed it.

Folks we just had to share this one with you.  We have to go tonight and take Wiggles, Giggles, Tickles and of course Sugar some supplies tonight.  Trish was emailing to tell me if I wanted to see Sugar I had to be there by 7:30.........Reason being........

Except I have a hard time keeping Sugar up past 7:30, she shouts,  then says nite nite, shouts again, then says nite nite, until I finally come in and say nite nite. (talk about taking control???)

So who says  a bird cannot take control of your life in three short days!!!

Oh ya folks, we were there last night and ain't no doubt.  Sugar is letting everyone know in fine fashion when it's her bedtime.  Jo was so amazed as I guess she was waiting for this nice sweet voice to say very softly Nite Nite.  Instead she hears this deep, deep voice NITE NITE.  Now she's wondering if this is how these guys hear her voice!  Thanks Trish for another wonderful, wonderful card!  Of course we had to put a picture to share with everyone!  We'll be over to see Sugar next week  and bring her,  her very own toy bucket.

We can't keep up with the updates on Sugar.  Her Mom thinks she is just the smartest little bird going.   She is now saying "Hello".  Jo told Trish she puts all her babies thru Kindergarden before they leave here, not to learn how to spell, but talk!
